You're welcome to contact the Careers Centre for advice, no matter when you graduated.

University of Sussex graduate?

if you graduated within the last year, contact the Careers and Employability Centre for advice or use the online e-guidance system

Graduate from another university?

If you graduated within the last two years you can contact the University of Brighton Careers Centre for help.  Alternatively, please Email link email us at Learning Opportunities to arrange for one-to-one careers and employability advice.  The Learning Opportunities team can advise you whatever your education and background.  We specialise in work and learning advice for adults.

Online careers advice

Are you unemployed or underemployed? Whether you're looking for career development or a complete change of career, both of your local universities have extensive online resources that are open to all: 

In addition, the Learning Opportunities career matters and redundancy sections provide a wide range of career planning information, resources and links as well as advice about using a short course to boost your CV and employability. 

Internships - get paid for graduate level work

University of Brighton

If you graduated within the last fews years, or are about to graduate, you can apply for an internship with the University of Brighton.  You'll get paid for 222 hours of graduate level work and you'll also be offered the opportunity to attend an Employability Skills workshop at the end.  Read more about the  University of Brighton Internship Programme.

University of Sussex

The internship programme is open to those who graduated with a Bachelor or Masters degree in 2008, 2009 or 2010.  The scheme is open to those who:

  • graduated from an East or West Sussex University or affiliated college OR
  • graduated from another UK University but have a permanent address in East or West Sussex.
